Hi! I’m Leah Berman Israel. In 2013, I went into Surgical Menopause after having a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (TAHBSO). Most people refer to that as just a “full” hysterectomy. HRT (hormone replacement theory) was the only basic discussion I had with both my surgeon and general practitioner before AND after surgery. There is so much more involved in menopause. I decided to start researching menopause issues. This led me to some fantastic programs, information, licenses, and certifications.
My journey from menstruation to post-menopause is much more complicated than I can write in a short “about me”. Every person’s transition through menopause is different but one thing remains the same – the lack of information that is shared with us.
Menopause should not be a taboo subject. It occurs in 51% of the population.
I am here to share what I have learned and am still learning. I want to help you have an easier transition, feel supported, and empower you to advocate in your best interest with the medical professionals.
